About the exhibition: Remnants (or spår in Swedish) is about what remains in an archive. What traces of Black life remain? What can sounds, images, and materials tell us about beauty, tension, and resistance? In the exhibition, we encounter works by both living artists and those who are no longer with us. The works create a dialogue between the past and the present. “Remnants” explores memories, resistance, and the experiences of living in diaspora and exile. Jazz music serves as a sonic backdrop and threads through the exhibition, connecting different eras, experiences, and artistic expressions.
