Studio Funk is a participant-driven art initiative that launched in 2024 with support from the Swedish Inheritance Fund. The initiative is aimed at and created in collaboration with people with cognitive and physical disabilities who are interested in art and social issues. On May 22, a closing seminar for Studio Funk was held at Tensta Konsthall. In preparation for the full-day event, we gathered documentation from the project—illustrations, publications, cultural posters, comics, and films—which was compiled into a documentary exhibition. The exhibition is now on view at the art hall for the remainder of June.

Studio Funk — Contemporary Art for Everyone presents activities, artworks, publications, and collaborations that have emerged in Studio Funk between 2024 and 2026. On display are works by participants, artists, and organizations that have been part of the project. The exhibition reflects Studio Funk’s focus: how can contemporary art become more accessible, participatory, and inclusive? Several of the artworks revolve around identity and representation and explore what it is like to be an artist with a disability. The participants’ own stories, expressions, and knowledge take center stage. Through various formats—text, image, sound, film, and tactile elements—the exhibition explores how art can be experienced and shared in multiple ways and by more people.
